Dona Gene Armstrong, 81, of Hagerstown, MD passed away peacefully Thursday, February 6, 2025 surrounded by loving family.
Born on October 23, 1943 in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Porter Snyder and Marion Louise (Sheesley) Snyder. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister and best friend Suzanne Short, and her brother, Thomas Snyder.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Eugene Armstrong; three children, Cheryl Bussard, Crista Armstrong, and Anthony Armstrong; her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; nephew, Damon Dietrich; and her faithful companion, "Cookie".
Dona graduated from Smithsburg High School, Class of 1961. She worked as a seamstress for EJ Fennels. Dona later became an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Washington County Hospital, where she was employed for over 25 years.
Dona had a deep love for nature and all its creatures. She found joy in tending to her garden, marveling at the vibrant flowers, and listening to the songs of the birds. As a gifted artist, she drew inspiration from the beauty of her garden and the life that flourished within it.
Dona’s kindness, selflessness, and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on the many lives she touched, from her patients to her friends and family. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, she will forever live on in our hearts. We will always cherish the joy, love, and kindness she brought to everyone she met.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude and care to VIVA Assisted Living and the Hospice of Washington County team for their outstanding care and support for our mother and family.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial on donaarmstrong.forevermissed.com
