Daniel Wade Franklin

Daniel Wade Franklin, 66, a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, passed away on August 28, 2025, in Roseville, CA. He was born on April 3, 1959, in Hagerstown, MD. 

A proud graduate of Smithsburg High School, Class of 1977, Daniel carried with him the values and friendships formed during those formative years throughout his life. His roots in Maryland remained an important part of his identity even as life took him across the country. 

He is survived by his devoted wife, Elyse Franklin of Roseville, CA; his children: Christopher Franklin (Annemarie) of North Ridgeville, OH; Tiffany Franklin of Hagerstown, MD; Robert Franklin (Sarah) of Bedford, PA; and a chosen son Donny Ray Anderson, Jr. of Bunker Hill, WV. Daniel was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Michaela Ohler and Cooper Hawbaker of Hagerstown, MD; Lexi Franklin of North Ridgeville, OH; and Oakley Franklin, Harper Franklin, and Granger Franklin of Bedford, PA.

He is survived by his brothers Doug Franklin (Marlene) and Jim Franklin (Kristi), along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.

Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Frederick Franklin and Roberta Lee (Grove) Franklin. He was also preceded in death by two brothers: Jeffrey Lynn Franklin and Robert Alan Franklin.

A Memorial Service will be held on September 20, 2025, at 04:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 30 Nottingham Rd, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
