David Glenn Bussard Sr. ,92, of Smithsburg, MD. passed away Thursday May 7, 2020 at Meritus Medical Center.
Born August 11, 1927 in Sharpsburg, Md., He was the son of the late Martin L. and Minnie G.P. (Pierce) Bussard.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Juanita M. (Myers) Bussard on July 19, 2001. They were married April 10, 1948.
He attended the Sharpsburg School.
He was a veteran of WWII serving in the United States Army
Early in life he was a farmer. He was employed by Hagerstown Block Co. for 50 years., and after retirement, he worked at the Holly Lakes Campgrounds in Millsboro, De.
He was a Lifetime Member at both of Sharpsburg EMS Station 19 and Sharpsburg VFD Station 1. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #948 and Redman Tribe #84.
He is survived by a son David G. Bussard Jr. (Janice) of Falling Waters, WV., two daughters; Linda Trovinger (Alvin) of State Line, PA. and Marnita Bowman (Dave) of Smithsburg. 8 grandchildren; Tina , Angie, Alan, Dawn , JD, Kim, Tammy and Tracey. One sister Hazel Smith of Boonsboro, MD., Along with numerous great grandchildren and loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter LeeAnne Trovinger, grandson Adam Trovinger, great grandson Austin Bussard, sisters Ethel Clipp and Helen Poffenberger and brothers James W. (Bill) Bussard and Martin C. (Chip) Bussard.
A service to celebrate Glenn’s life will be held at a later date, so all who wish to, can attend, in light of our current social situation.
