Donald Eugene Bradburn

Donald Eugene “Don” Bradburn, 78, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. Born August 26, 1942, in Afton, TN, he was the son of the late William Stevenson Bradburn and Anna Lou (Hopson) Bradburn and the stepson of Shirley D. Aurand of Smithsburg, MD. He was a graduate of Kenwood High School of Baltimore, MD. He was a lifelong member of the Smithsburg Community Volunteer Fire Company and for years was the flag bearer for the Town of Smithsburg. He was employed through the years by the USPS of Smithsburg, MD, Harne Family Farm in Burkittsville, MD, and Goodwill of Frederick through the Jeanne Bussard Center receiving the Man of the Year Award in 1967. In addition to his mother, Shirley Aurand, Don is survived by siblings, Roger Bradburn, Ronald Bradburn, Charles Bradburn, Joseph Bradburn and Tammy Duffey, nieces and nephews, Steven Stevenson, Ronda Bradburn, Durke Besore, Alex Bradburn, Samantha Hays, Jason Huntsberry, Kristi Duffey and Chad Duffey and numerous cousins and great-nephews. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by two nephews, Frankie Bradburn and David Bradburn. A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 1:00pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Julie Brigham officiating. Inurnment will follow at Smithsburg Cemetery. Viewing will be held Thursday, July 8, 2021, from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
