Donald Elwood Shoemaker, Sr.

Donald E. Shoemaker, Sr., 82, of Big Pool, MD, passed away, Sunday, August 16, 2020, at his home. Donald was born October 5, 1937 in Clear Spring, MD, and was one of seven children of the late Jesse Lester Shoemaker and Dorothy Julene (Mummert) Shoemaker. Donald was retired from Redland Brick Company in Williamsport, MD. He is survived by three children, Sandra Ruchlewicz, Robin Porter, and Donald Shoemaker, Jr., seven grandchildren, Michelle Thomason, Jacob Cherry, Alli Porter, Randy Shoemaker, Taylor Porter, Ashley Cherry, and Brandi Helman and two great grandchildren, Eli Thomason, and Rylee Thomason. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Shoemaker and one daughter, Beth Ann Cherry. Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by J.L.
