Donna Kay (Price) Unger

Donna Kay (Price) Unger, 72, of Smithsburg, MD passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at Meritus Medical Center. Born June 28, 1949, in Hagerstown, MD. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Caleb Price Sr., and Pauline Ida Price. Donna attended Smithsburg High School. She was employed by Hadley Farms, Thurmont Shoe Company, Washington County Hospital, and retired from Meritus Medical Center as a Cardiac Monitor Technician. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William E. Unger III; one son, William E. Unger IV, and wife Cindy of Hagerstown, MD; one daughter, Victoria Dawn Shank, and husband Kevin of Hagerstown, MD. Donna was blessed with six grandchildren; Cole Dalton Shank, Logan William Unger, Cody Lane Shank, Mitchell Robert Unger, Cade Owen Shank; one great grandson, Waylon Cade Unger; two brothers Elmer "Moe" Price Jr, and wife Crystal of Waynesboro, PA, and Michael Lee Price of Waynesboro, PA; plus several nieces, nephews, and her best friend of 65 years, Brenda Fraley of Smithsburg, MD. She also leaves behind her beloved Pomeranian dog, Siri. In addition to her parents, Donna is preceded in death by her only granddaughter, Brooke Danielle Shank, a brother, Randy Owen Price, and her niece Brenda Jean Unger.
