Dorothy May (Lutz) Bowen

Dorothy May Lutz Bowen “Dot or Dottie”, 91, of East Washington Street, Hagerstown and formerly of Middletown, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Doey’s House in Hagerstown. Born July 9, 1929 in Middletown, she was the daughter of the late William E. Lutz and Rosa M. (Shafer) Lutz. She worked at Brandt Cabinet Works in Hagerstown until retirement. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church in Hagerstown. She was preceded in death by husband Clarence E. Bowen “Pete”, whom she married in 1965; two brothers William Roland Lutz and Merhl Raymond Lutz. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She will be remembered by niece Kay Craig of Frederick, cousin, Sue O’Brien of Boonsboro and their families, many nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors. Thank you to the very kind Nurses, Doctor’s, Social Workers and all those who did their best to keep her comfortable and her family informed during her last days. Dot will be buried at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Middletown. There will be a graveside service Tuesday, January 19th at 3:30 pm. Arrangements by J.L.
