Douglas W. Royer, 70, a lifelong resident of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at his home surrounded by family. He had been critically ill for the past several weeks.
Born September 1, 1951, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of Doris “Dottie” Royer of Waynesboro and the late Ralph Royer.
He graduated from Waynesboro High School class of 1969.
He was a skilled brick layer and mason who helped in the construction of many homes and businesses in the Waynesboro area, especially Woodcrest.
He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and wood working. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Holly Royer, his former wife, Bonnie Royer, four grandchildren, Brandon Placko, Sydnee Foglia (Anthony), Colton Smith and Riley Smith, and three brothers, David Royer (Mary Jo), Brad Royer (Caroline) and Jeffrey Royer (Barb).
Services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. A celebration of life service for family and friends will be held at a later date.
