Dwayne Gerald Wiles

Dwayne Gerald Wiles, 76, of Wolfsville, passed from this life and was received into the arms of his heavenly Father on June 7, 2026.

He grew up in the Wolfsville area. In the early years, he enjoyed playing ball and swimming in Middle Creek with his friends. During his teen years, he enjoyed running around in his ’63 Falcon and his ’64 GTO. After graduation, he was enlisted in the Army National Guard. He worked for Frederick County Roads as a heavy equipment mechanic for 3 years and then went on to the High’s Dairy plant, where he worked for 32 years. He was a devoted husband of 55 years, loving father, awesome grandfather and a friend to many.

He was a jack of all trades kind of guy and knew how to do so many things. His many hobbies included hunting, homestead farming, gardening, small engine repair, and sawing logs on his sawmill. In his later years, he enjoyed going for rides around the countryside.

One of his greatest joys was his grandson, Brandon. They did everything together while Brandon was growing up. He was a wonderful mentor to Brandon and taught him many things about small engine repair and vehicle repair. He also taught him how to fell trees and run the old family sawmill.

Dwayne is survived by his wife, Mary V. Wiles; daughter, Robin Covell and her husband Jeff; grandson, Brandon Covell; brothers Merhl Wiles (Gail), Garry Wiles (Sharon), Jeanine Harshman (Randy), and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father, Merhl F. Wiles, Sr.; his mother, Mary I. Wiles; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a nephew.

Visitation will be held at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm.

Funeral will be held at Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 10:00am where Pastor Matthew Smith of Abbottstown, PA will be officiating.

Following the funeral, a vehicle procession will be from Davis Funeral Home to Grossnickle Church of the Brethren in Myersville where there will be a graveside burial service. We are asking if you have a classic or vintage car and would like to drive it in memory of Dwayne, please do so.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, to be determined.
