EDMOND KOONTZ Obituary

Edmond "Eddie" Milo Koontz, 77, of Hagerstown MD, passed away peacefully, Saturday, September 7, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born October 6,1946 in Jefferson, MD to the late Ruth E. Koontz, Ralph L. Koontz and stepmother Anne Koontz.

Eddie was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam, a member of Catoctin Mountain Street Rods and the American Legion. He worked for 30 years as a bus mechanic and supervisor before retiring from Montgomery County Public Schools. He then went to work as a transportation shop supervisor for 11 years before retiring, again, from Frederick County Public Schools.

He loved the outdoors; fishing, hunting, motorcycle rides, owning and working on old cars and most of all time spent with his friends, family, children, grandchildren and especially his great granddaughter.

Eddie is survived by his daughters Nicole Wangness and husband Craig of Sabillasville MD, Heidi Cole and husband Matt of Knoxville TN, stepdaughter Dana Remsburg and husband Troy, grandchildren Bailie, Dylan, Reilly and Brittany, great grandchild Wrenley, sisters Judy Virts and Holly McDowell, brother and sister in laws, nieces and nephews along with many friends including his father in law Bill, Donnie, Patti Lawson, Billy, Wayne, Jeff and Gigge.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Patricia "Trish" Mulligan Koontz, stepbrother Pete Cooper and stepsister Lorena Pappalardo.

The family will receive friends from 6PM-8PM Thursday, September 12, 2024, at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave, Smithsburg MD. Graveside Service will be 11AM Friday, September 13, 2024, at Broadfording Cemetery, Hagerstown MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Washington County.
