Edwin Lewis Martin, 87, died Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Mennonite Fellowship Home, in Hagerstown, MD.
Born January 22, 1937, at home, in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Hege and Luvinia (Eshelman) Martin.
Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Ruth Henninger (Strite) Martin in 1992.
He was a member of Stouffers Mennonite Church.
His life work was mechanics.
Edwin is survived by his children, David (Ella Mae) Martin of Greencastle, PA; Sheila (Timothy) Rice of Boonsboro, MD; Arlin (Keturah) Martin of Chambersburg, PA; and Crystal (Jason) Horst of Meadville, PA, brothers, Clair (Mary Catherine) Martin of Hagerstown, MD; Albert Martin of Chincoteague, VA; and Leon Martin of Clear Spring, MD, sisters, Louise Long Boswell of Gaithersburg, MD; Helen (Chester) Horst of Hagerstown, MD; and Dorothy (Richard) Rutherford of Mercersburg, Pa; sister-in-law, Helen Martin; very close friend, Anthony “Tony” Alexander of Bronx, NY, 23 grandchildren, and 62 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Edwin was preceded in death by his brothers, Nathan and Calvin Martin; brothers-in-law, Henry Boswell and Maynard Long; sisters-in-law, Nancy Martin, Rosalind Martin, and Patricia Martin; grandson, Tristan Martin; and great-granddaughter, Kari Martin.
Service will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, at 10:00 am at the Stouffers Mennonite Church, 23303 Welty Church Rd, Smithsburg, MD 21783, with the church Ministry officiating, viewing one hour prior.
The family will receive friends for Visitation at Stouffers Mennonite Church on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm.
Interment will be at the Stouffers Mennonite Cemetery.
