EUGENE IMES Obituary

Eugene Franklin Imes, 75, passed away on Sunday, October 08, 2023, at Doey's house in Hagerstown, MD.

Born June 15, 1948, he was preceded in death by his father, Joseph H. Imes and his mother, Mary M Hornbaker Imes Miller.

In addition to his parents, Eugene is preceded in death by his sister, Martha Wiles, and 2 nephews.

Eugene is survived by his two daughters, Shelby A. Hughes, her spouse Matthew D Hughes Sr. and Pennie M Daffner of Hagerstown, MD. He was a grandfather to 6 grandchildren; Malik Hughes, Maliesha Hughes, David Mercer, Ryan Horst, Alexis Quick, and Asia Brooks and also 3 great grandchildren; Malik Hughes Jr., Emyiah Hughes and Norah Hughes. One special nephew, who was with him till the end, Kiantaye Devon Myers. Five surviving siblings; Pat Snyder Boden and her spouse Eddie Boden, Joseph Imes and his spouse Lois Imes, Edward Imes and his spouse Shirley Imes, Johnny Imes and his spouse Roxanne Imes, Brian Imes, and many nieces and nephews.

He loved his girls more than anything.

Eugene delivered Chinese food in Hagerstown for years for Golden Crown Chinese restaurant after retiring from construction for Callas Contractors due to medical issues.

Service will be held on November 4, 2023, at 11:00 am. at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783. All flowers and memorial donations to be made out to the Funeral home.
