Earl Leroy "Pete" Tracey

Earl Leroy “Pete” Tracey, 90, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024, at Hospice of Washington County, Doey’s House, in Hagerstown, MD. Born September 13, 1934, in Wolfsville, MD, he was the son of the late Wilmer M. Tracey and Ruth Virginia (Kline) Tracey. Over the years, Pete worked at Waynesboro Shoe, Hagerstown Shoe, Thurmont Shoe, Bikle Manufacturing and Mountain Valley Orchard. Pete is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ilene C. (Sowers) Tracey whom he married August 20, 1955, Children, Leroy Tracey (Sharon), James Tracey (Linda), Debra Rowe (Dwayne) and Ricky Tracey (Kathy), grandchildren, Jason Tracey, April Vu (Loc), Angela Rowe (Iain), Sara Rowe (Bren), Brianna Rowe, Adrienne Haden (Josh), Bryan Tracey and Adam Tracey (Hannah), great-grandchildren, Cameron Vu, Logan Vu, Cole Vu, Kinsley Haden, Keegan Haden, Noah Tracey and Aubrey Rose Tracey, siblings, Richard Tracey, Betty Sowers, Robert Tracey, Elmer Tracey, Norma Eaton, Leon Tracey and Elwood Tracey, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by siblings, Evelyn Tracey, Esther Toms, Shirley Fishack and George Tracey. Services will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at 1:00pm at Cavetown United Church of Christ, Cavetown, MD, with Pastor Chuck Mackley officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown, MD. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 17, 2024, from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Doey’s House for their exceptional care given to Pete and them.
