Ernest Peter Ferrara

Ernest Peter Ferrara, 85, Went to be with his Lord December 1, 2019 in Sarasota, Florida. He was born in Bellville, New Jersey on February 4,1934, the son of Ernest and Margaret (Prestera) Ferrara. He attended school in Belleville, New Jersey. He went to the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia and was a member of the school’s golf team. He worked for GAF Roofing as a chemist and quality control director in Hagerstown, Maryland. Later he worked for GS Roofing in Charleston, South Carolina and as a consultant. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Hagerstown, Maryland. He leaves behind a wife, Cora Anne (Hollingsworth) Ferrara in Smithsburg, Maryland and a son, Michael L. Ferrara in Hagerstown, Maryland. Sisters, Saundra Conte and Judith Cardinale. A mass of Christian burial service will be held Monday, December 16, 2019 at 10:00am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD. The family will receive friends later Monday evening from 7-9pm at the funeral home Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, New Jersey.
