Eugene Martin "Gene" Kline

Eugene Martin “Gene” Kline, Sr., 88, of Smithsburg, MD, went home to meet his Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 7, 2026. Born November 8, 1937, in Wolfsville, MD, he was the son of the late Martin Curtis Kline and Ruth Naomi (Pryor) Kline. Gene was preceded in death by his loving wife of almost 66 years, Jane Louise (Oswald) Kline, who passed away February 11, 2022. They were married February 18, 1956. He was a graduate of Middletown High School, class of 1955. He was a member of Black Rock Bible Church of Hagerstown, MD. Gene retired from Mack Truck Inc. of Hagerstown after serving over 30 years and retired from Kline’s Truck Equipment after serving almost 20 years. He loved fixing and restoring cars and loved the mountains. Gene is survived by sons, Eugene M. Kline, Jr. and wife Elaine and John D. Kline and wife Dottie, daughter, Karen M. Munson and husband Richard Sr., sister, Carolyn Ecker, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Kline. Services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 10:00am, at Black Rock Bible Church, Hagerstown, MD, with Pastor Guy Nesbitt officiating. Burial will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Wolfsville, MD. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
