Eugene "Gene" "Pud" Jordan Obituary

Eugene Lee “Gene” “Pud” Jordan, 62, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, after a courageous battle with stage 5 cancer. Gene was born October 4, 1959, in Hagerstown, MD, and was the son of Betty Mae (Chaney) Jordan and the late Donald Lee Jordan. Gene worked as a welder for several years and retired from Pangborn. He was a handyman and mechanic. Close family and friends lovingly referred to him as McGuyver. He would give the shirt off his own back to make sure friends and family were taken care of. Family was the most important asset in his life and family extended beyond blood. Everyone who was close to him was a part of his “village”. He enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, and taking his grandchildren to the park. In addition to his mother Betty Jordan, Gene is survived by the love of his life, companion and best friend of 15 years, Carie Brett Fetter, four children, Stacie Lynn Thompson, Kevin Scott Jordan, Marybeth Worthington and Mark Fetter, his adopted son, Brandon Ingram, one brother, Paul Grayson “Butch” Jordan, seven grandchildren, Philip “Andrew” Thompson, Jr., Levi Charles Thompson, Isaac Jacob Thompson, Bryce Alexander Childs, Victoria Celeste Kisley, Trinity Delilah Fetter and Michael Chandler Vanmeter and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. In addition to his father Donald Jordan, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Al and Virginia Mae Bussard, one brother, Kenneth Jordan and two sisters, Donna Wilson, and Tina Vinzant. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations and cards can be sent to Carie Fetter, 521 Ridge Ave. Hagerstown, MD 21740. Arrangements were made by J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD and online condolences may be offered at www.jldavisfh.com.
