FLORENCE ANNE CASE

Florence Anne (Sinkevich) Case, 100, of Thurmont, MD, passed away peacefully Friday, February 21, 2025, at her home, surrounded by loving family.

Born on September 19, 1924, in Rockford, IL, she was the daughter of the late Anna (Shimkus) Sinkevich and Martin Sinkevich.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Ret. Col. Clifford S. Case; and Daughter, Christine Caren (Case) Phebus.

Florence graduated from East Rockford High School, Rockford, IL, class of 1942.

She worked at the Consolidated Aircraft Corp. Factory as a riveter in San Diego, CA from 1942 - 1943 and worked for State Senator, Ed Fletcher, in Culver City, CA from 1944 - 1945.

Florence was a member of Garfield United Methodist Church, Smithsburg, MD. She was also a former volunteer at Catoctin Mountain Park.

Florence enjoyed traveling and visited all 50 states. She enjoyed playing games at casinos, her face lit up when she would finish with a scratch off lottery ticket and would win. She also enjoyed taking bus tours with her friends and family.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol C. Byrd and husband, Andy, of Woodstock, MD; and Connie Rickerd and husband, Jimmy, of Thurmont, MD; 6 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; Nieces, Cynthia Lopynski (Jerry) and Carolyn Burchfield (Alex); and numerous Cousins and special Friends.

Florence trusted in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and looked forward to an eternity with Him in Heaven.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
