GERALD EDWARD COLBERT

Gerald Edward Colbert, 70, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024, at his home.

Born March 12, 1954, Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Henry Chaney and Betty (Shipley) Chaney.

Gerald loved spending time in his back yard feeding the squirrels.

In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert and Gertrude Close, and grandson, Trenton Colbert.

He is survived by his sister, Jeannie Swauger (Lane), brothers, Jeffrey Chaney and David Chaney, daughter, Jessica Colbert, stepdaughter, Krista Giffin, grandchildren, Brianna Colbert, Brendon Colbert, 2 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, 15 great nieces and nephews, 3 step-grandchildren, long-term-friend, Stephanie Mills, and numerous cousins.

Services will be at the convenience of the family.
