Obituary
Gerald Lynn Powell passed away unexpectedly on April 3rd, 2023, at the age of 67. Gerald is survived by his two children Joshua Powell, and Kaitlyn Mummert, and siblings James Powell, Carolyn Powell, Michael Powell, Leah Hovis, & Max Powell Jr.
He was preceded by his mother and father Mildred and Max Powell, brothers Bill & Eddie Powell, sister Bonnie Davenport and former wife Martina Marie Spoonhour.
Gerald was born on August 20th, 1955, and graduated from Waynesboro High School class of 1973. He was a long-time employee of Lowe’s Home Improvement and previously worked at Waynesboro Pipe Products until their closure, and briefly for GS Electric in Chambersburg PA.
Gerald was a loving father, brother and friend. While he will be remembered as a dedicated worker and provider, he was equally passionate about relaxation, and would spend his free time enjoying a few well-deserved beers and catching up on the latest superhero movies and zombie tv shows.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life ceremony at a later date but there will be no formal funeral service. Condolences, flowers, etc. may be sent to Kaitlyn & Josh at 214 W Main St Waynesboro PA 17268.
