Gail Bland Wagaman, 86, of Bunker Hill, WV, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 19, 2025 at her home.
Born on April 8, 1939 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bland Taylor (Benchoff) and Herman Everett Shockey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Gerald "Jerry" E. Wagaman; Sister, Connie Shockey and Brothers in laws Doyle Grove and Buck Wagaman.
Gail graduated from Smithsburg High School, class of 1957.
Gail worked alongside her husband for Doubleday Book Binding Company for 43 years until her retirement. Gail and Jerry worked in the Smithsburg location, along with the Orange, VA and Berryville, VA location. Gail was a lifetime member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro, PA.
Gail enjoyed going to the beach, and was an avid sports fan, always rooting for the Baltimore Orioles, Washington Nationals and Commanders, and Penn State football.
She is survived by her Sisters, Winnie Grove of Williamsport, MD and Carolyn Sheeley and husband Alan of Waynesboro, PA; Brother, Dennis Shockey and wife Kim of Waynesboro, PA; Sister in law Peggy Wagaman and Special Godchildren Ann Gardenhour and Brian Blubaugh and several Nieces and Nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 at 2 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783 with Rev. Dr. Robert Cook officiating.
Family will receive friends one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
