Garnet Edward Branthaver, 86, of Williamsport, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, June 9, 2025, at Seaton of Hagerstown, Hagerstown, MD, surrounded by loving family.
Born on November 6, 1937, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Ethel Naomi (Richardson) and Garnet Milton Branthaver.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel E. Branthaver.
Garnet graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School, class of 1955.
He continued his education by obtaining a Bachelor's Degree from Juniata College and then a Master's Degree in Social Work from West Virginia University.
Garnet worked as a Clinical Social Worker for many many years at the Washington County Health Department. He visited every nursing home in Washington County in a Social Work capacity.
He enjoyed collecting baseball cards and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Joan Elizabeth (Galbraith) Branthaver; Brother, Carl Branthaver (Bonnie); and numerous Nieces, Nephews and friends.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. It was the final wishes of Garnet and the family that his ashes be scattered in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the charity of ones' choice.
