George Nevin Oswald, Sr.

George Nevin Oswald, Sr., 90, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD. Born October 30, 1933, in Garfield, MD, he was the son of the late Lester Lee Oswald and Meda Catherine (Kuhn) Oswald. He attended Smithsburg High School. He was a welder by trade for 43 years. He retired from Pangborn Corporation after 35 years of service. George is survived by his wife of 70 years, Susan (Sanbower) Oswald whom he married August 15, 1953, son, George N. Oswald, Jr., granddaughter, Jen Bishop and husband Mark, great-granddaughter, Kaylee, great-grandson, Cameron, son-in-law, Gary G. Grossnickle, Brother-in-law, Eugene M. Kline, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Barbara Sue Grossnickle, sister, Jane L. Kline and brother, Lester E. Oswald.
