Isabel Loraine (Hays) Stottlemyer, 95, of Sabillasville, MD, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD. Born Wednesday, April 9, 1930, in Garfield, MD, she was the daughter of the late Harry Milton Hays and Anne Laura (Winfield) Hays. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 78 years, Otha Junior Stottlemyer, sons, Ronnie and John Stottlemyer, grandson, Dennis Stitely, Jr., sister, Josephine Buhrman, and brother Cyrus Hays. She attended Forrest School, was a homemaker, loved to cook and go on shopping trips and had great pride in being the full-time babysitter for the family, helping to raise all her grandchildren. Isabel is survived by her loving daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Stitely (Denny), Patsy Harne (Buster) and Laura Wallace (David), sister, Mary Ann Wiles, 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. The family would like to thank Fahrney-Keedy Senior Living Community for the care they provided and special thanks to friend Charlie for his love. Services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 11:00am at Garfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Al Deal officiating. Burial will follow in Garfield United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, June 2, 2025, from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Isabel Stottlemyer to Garfield United Methodist Church 13628 Stottlemyer Rd. Smithsburg, MD 21783.
