JAMES EDWARD MCPHERSON

James Edward McPherson, 73, of Walkersville, passed away peaceful, Monday, October 16, 2023, at St. Joseph Medical Center, Towson.

Born on March 21, 1950, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Florence (Munroe) and William McPherson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William "Ted" Treadway McPherson.

James graduated from Montgomery Blair High School, Silver Spring, class of 1968.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

James worked as a mechanic until his retirement.

James was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed doing anything outside. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, yardwork, and fixing anything that was broken. James and Susan's favorite trip was their annual visit to Gatlinburg, TN, where James would sit in the woods, drink his coffee and visit with "George" the bear.

He is survived by the love of his life for 16 years, Susan R. Haynes; Son, James Edward McPherson, Jr., and wife Amanda of Rockville, and their children, Owen, Colin and Paxton; Daughter, Michelle Croat and husband Richard (RJ) of Germantown, and their children, Tyler, Alanna and Maddux; stepson, Wesley Haynes of Walkersville and children, Marley and Jamie; Sister, Jean Buchanan of FL; Niece Karen Blasingame and family; and many other additional special family members and friends.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
