Jean Elizabeth (Graybill) Eckstine, 85, of Pondsville, MD, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at her home.
Born on April 14, 1939, in Smithsburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Annie "Grace" (Kretsinger) and Walter James Graybill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Harold Eugene Eckstine; Sister, Annabelle (Graybill) Henderson; Brother-in-law, Barnie O. Henderson; and Sister-in-law, Ada V. Kline Graybill.
Jean was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Greensburg, where she and Harold had the first wedding reception in the Sunday school addition of the church.
Jean had various career opportunities, including Customer Service at Sears Roebuck, Doubleday Printing Plant, Allstate Insurance, along with being a full time, loving mother.
She is survived by 4 Children; Vincent E. Eckstine of Smithsburg, MD; Karen J. Martin and husband, John Steven of Smithsburg, MD; Harold E. Eckstine, II (Sam) and wife Debra Chilcote of Hagerstown, and Michael W. Eckstine, of Smithsburg, MD; Brothers, Jimmie (Lois), Johnny (Linda), Robert, Roger (Sue), and Joe (Jeanne) Graybill; Grandchildren, Ariel (Jesse) Gutekunst, John Timothy (Kasie) Martin, Adrienne (John) Hartman and John Justin (Hannah) Martin; Great Grandchildren, Grayson, Jamie, Emily and Amelia; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 11 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 16 N. Main St. Smithsburg, MD 21783 with Pastor Virgil F. Cain officiating. Interment will follow in Ringgold Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.
Family will receive friends Monday, November 11, 2024, from 6-8 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave Smithsburg, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Washington County or Doey's House, 1710 Underpass Way, Suite 300 Hagerstown, MD 21740.
