JOYCE EVA HARSHMAN

Joyce Eva Harshman, 88, of Myersville, MD, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at her home.

Born May 5, 1934, in Middlepoint, MD, she was the daughter of John "Johnny" Gaver and Kathryn Eva Ann Lewis.

She was preceded in death of her husband of 66 years, Maurice Harshman, who passed away on May 31, 2021. They were married on July 31, 1954.

In Addition to her husband, Joyce is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Lee Harshman, who passed away on March 30, 2021.

Joyce was a graduate of Middletown High School, class of 1952.

She was a member of the Grossnickle Chruch of the Brethren in Myersville, MD.

Joyce was a co-owner and operator of H&H Lawn mowing with her husband and sons.

She was also a childcare provider for over 35 years.

Joyce is survived by her son, Todd Harshman (Kathleen), grandchildren, Chris and Maurica, great-grandchildren, Alaina, Antonio, Kamaria, and Kylee, brother, Eugene Gaver (Marilyn), foster sisters, Catherine Leatherman, and Bonnie Stream, Brother-in-Law, Richard Harshman (Anita), Sister-in-Laws, Regina Harshman (David), and Mildred " Midge" Harshman, and numerous nieces and nephews and she will be miss by her loving friends Cathy Clemson and Beulah Bell.

She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Maynard Gaver, Francis Gaver, Donald Gaver, Steve Gaver, and David Gaver.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave, Smithsburg MD, 2178/3, at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Karen Grossnickle. Family will be receiving friends one-hour prior to service.
