Jack Buttry Marshall, Jr., 87, of Martinsburg, WV, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2021, at York Hospital in York, PA. Born July 1, 1934, in Olney, MD, he was the son of the late Andrew Jackson Marshall and Arkie Mae (Buttry) Marshall. He was a member of Marlowe Assembly of God Church where he drove the church bus and was known as “Captain Jack”. Jack was a devoted Christian and follower of Christ. He loved spending time with his family and was a good provider for them. Jack was a member of the Cowboy Action Shooting organization “SASS” and an avid NASCAR fan. He was employed by Benson Garage Doors, Derwood, MD for 22 years. Jack is survived by his wife of 69 years, Vivian Irene (Bart) Marshall whom he married March 15, 1952, three sons, Ralph Edward Marshall (Lillie), David Wayne Marshall (Valerie) and Eric Glenn Marshall, three daughters, Wanda Carole Plumb (Dexter), Lisa Ruth Brown (Wayne) and Jaqueline Kay Sharrah (Brett), one sister, Lorine Buchanan, nine grandchildren, Laura (Andol), Michael, Amanda, David, Robert, Jack, Samuel (Haylee), James and Ashley, one great-granddaughter, Adalynn and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Sue Marshall and three sisters, Blanche, Bonnie and Anna Ruth. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021, at 2:00pm at Marlowe Assembly of God, 9045 Williamsport Pike, Falling Waters, WV, 25419, with Pastor Norm Gloeckler officiating.
