James "Jim" Arthur Mong, 59, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at WellSpan-York Hospital, York, PA, surrounded by loving family.
Born on January 1, 1965, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Mildred (Gardenhour) and Homer C. Mong.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William T. Mong; and Brother-in-law, Donald Bream, Jr.
Jim graduated from Waynesboro Area Senior High School, class of 1983.
Jim owned and operated JJ & K and James A. Mong Concrete Contracting for 34 years.
Jim was a member of Blue Rock United Brethren Church, Waynesboro, PA. For several years he taught the youth group at Freedom Worship Center, Fort Littleton, Pa. He participated in several mission trips to Honduras, El Salvador, Mississippi and Alaska.
Jim enjoyed gardening, especially growing zucchini, and making homemade salsa. He also enjoyed building garden sheds around his property and spending time with family. He worked hard and shared Jesus with everyone.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Tammy S. (Bream) Mong; Sons, James Mong, Jr. and wife, Christi, and Kevin A. Mong, all of Waynesboro, PA; Granddaughter, Taryn; Brothers, Robert Mong (Jeanie), Homer Mong (Kathy), Brian Mong (Pam), Roger Mong (Deb),
Mark Mong (Missy); Sisters, Mary Robinson (Hector), Joyce Ray, Lillian Patterson, and Cathy Mong; Sister-in-law, Donna Tillis (Sean) and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10 AM at Harbaugh Church Cemetery, 14223 Harbaugh Church Rd, Waynesboro, PA 17268, with Pastor Greg Helman officiating.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 6-8 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg, MD 21783.
