James A. Rinehart

James Arthur Rinehart, 81, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully Monday, March 17, 2025 at his home, surrounded by loving family.

Born on January 9, 1944 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Margaret (Bowers) Rinehart and John Edward Bailey Rinehart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two Sons, Bradley Wayne Rinehart and Brian Lee Rinehart; and Brother, Warren Rinehart.

Jim retired from the State of Maryland as a Maintenance worker at the Potomac Center after over 20 years of service. He also worked at Tobacco Products, Super Value, Wetterau, and AC&T on Burhans Blvd. He also would bar tend and wash windows in the downtown area.

Jim was a member of Goodwill Athletic Club.

Jim enjoyed fishing, watching wildlife, doing cross word puzzles, and playing scratch off lottery tickets.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Kathy (Smith) Rinehart; Children, Dana Fay Betts of Hagerstown, MD, Kimberly Sue Barthelew and husband, Raymond, of Clear Spring, MD, Troy Williams Rinehart and girlfriend, Rhonda Gorman, of Hagerstown, MD, and Tanya Lynn Rinehart of Hagerstown, MD; Grandchildren, Christopher James Rinehart, Brian Marcus Rinehart and Aaron Lee Rinehart, along with many other Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren; Sister, Cecelia "Sis" McQuait (Larry); and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
