Jennifer Marie Black, 43, of Thurmont, Maryland, passed away December 11, 2025, leaving behind a life that, while marked by struggle, was also defined by resilience, humor, and deep connections to those who knew her best. Jennifer was born on June 30, 1982, at Gettysburg Hospital, in Gettysburg Pennsylvania.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Jeffrey Dwayne Black, of Thurmont, Maryland; her grandparents E. Lee and Frances Black, and Floyd and Frances Reynolds, all of Thurmont, Maryland; along with her cousins Jason and Scotty, as well as many other loved ones who held a special place in her heart.
She leaves behind her three children: Tre’ Anthony Peter of Shermandale, Pennsylvania; Natalie Ferrell of Smithsburg, Maryland; and Allisyn Black of Thurmont, Maryland. She is also survived by her devoted mother, Sharon Black of Thurmont, Maryland; her brother, Travis Black of Thurmont, Maryland; Sister, Alayna Black of Pickens, South Carolina; sister, Markea Price of Boyds, Maryland as well as 3 nephews, Jeremy, Jensyn and Colsyn.
Jennifer was a graduate of Catoctin High School, Class of 2000. Those who knew her remember her as someone who felt deeply and lived for each day, even when life did not offer her an easy path. She faced many challenges over the years, yet continued striving forward, working to rebuild, grow, and find steadiness again. Her journey was not simple, but it reflected strength, determination, and a quiet hope for better days.
Jennifer’s life mattered. She will be remembered for her individuality, her perseverance, and the lasting impact she leaves on her family. Her memory lives on through her children, her family, and all those who shared moments, laughter, and love with her.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, at Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church, at 11:00am; Located at 17013 Sabillasville Road, Sabillasville, MD 21780. All who knew and loved Jennifer are welcome to attend and remember her life.
