Jo Ann (Mason) Lewis

Jo Ann Lewis, 78 of Hagerstown MD, and formerly of Cavetown, MD, passed away Sunday July 19, 2020 at Meritus Medical Center. Born January 18, 1942 in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Robert E. Mason and Lillis C. (Detrow) Mason. Jo Ann was a 1959 Smithsburg High School Graduate. She was employed by Waynesboro Shoe Factory, Doubleday Bookbinding, and Retired from Coffman Nursing Home where she worked for over 25 years. Jo Ann was a member of Virginia Avenue Church of God and attended the Widows Bible Study Group. Jo Ann is survived by her children, Teresa L. Smith and husband Gary of Smithsburg, Michael L. Lewis andwife Dawn of Salisbury, and Daryl W. Lewis and wife Lindsay of Cavetown, Grandchildren, Kara Acre andhusband Joe, Shelby and Sheldon Lewis, Chase and Layden Lewis, Great Grandchildren, Raleigh Clever, Rozalyn Clever, and Ryker Acre. Lastly, she is survived by her dog and companion Maggie. Jo Ann is proceeded in death by her husband of 49 years Landon Lewis who she wed on December 14,1963, son Tony Lewis, Grandsons Craig Smith and Joshua Lewis, as well as her sister Phyllis Lewis. A Graveside services will be held Friday July 24, 2020 at Garfield United Methodist Church Cemetery, Wolfsville, MD, at 1pm with Pastors Shawn Bushman and Pastor Randy Reid officiating.
