Joanne Elizabeth (Sink) Kunde, 89, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Meritus Medical Center, Hagerstown, MD, surrounded by loving family.
Born on March 23, 1936 in Racine, WI, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Martha (Kehl) and Norman Clyde Sink.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Virgil George Kunde; and Granddaughter, Nicole Marie Ashby.
Joanne graduated from Needham Broughton High School, class of 1954. She went on to attend college in Raleigh, NC.
Joanne was employed by General Electric and Orbital Sciences in Greenbelt, MD until her retirement after 20 years of service.
Joanne was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Smithsburg, MD. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo and cards, vacationing at the beach, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her Son, Gerald Kunde and his wife, Karen, of Myersville, MD; Daughters, Kathy Casidy and husband, David, and Karen Bobbitt all of Smithsburg; Grandchildren, Shannon Skinner (Chris), Justin Casidy (Lynh), Matthew Bobbitt (Jess), Natalie Bobbitt and Melanie Bobbitt; Great Grandchildren, Lincoln, Andrew and Jace Skinner, Willow Bobbitt, and Kayla Ashby; Sister, Nancy Myers (David); Brother, Bob Sink (Caroline); and many Nieces and Nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at 11 AM at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 12704 Wolfsville Rd. Smithsburg, MD 21783 with Reverend Eric Moser officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery, Smithsburg, MD.
Family will receive friends Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 6-8 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Smithsburg, MD.
