Jodie Lynn Thomas

Jodie Lynn Thomas, 53, of Smithsburg, MD, went to be with her Lord on Oct. 25, 2021. Born March 17, 1968, in San Antonio, TX, she was the beloved daughter of John Edward Thomas (deceased) and Judy Grace Thomas (Grimes) of Sterling, VA. She is survived by her mother, Judy, and her twin sister Julie Grace Strausser as well as her younger sister, Jennifer Ann Pye. Jodie worked as a mail-sorting clerk at the U.S. Geological Survey. She loved the Washington Redskins, baking and cross stitching. She was an active member of Smithsburg Valley Church and a volunteer in Vacation Bible School and the Special Olympics. Jodie overcame many health challenges in her life through God’s healing and personal fortitude. She never seemed to know a stranger but was open and friendly with everyone. Family visitation will begin at 2:00 pm followed by a celebration of life service at 2:30 pm Sunday, November 7, 2021, at Smithsburg Valley Church, 12911 Bikle Rd., Smithsburg, MD, 21783.
