John Michael Humerick, 82, a.k.a. Alaska Mike, of King Salmon, AK, formerly of Emmittsburg, MD, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Doey's House, Hagerstown, MD, surrounded by loving family.
Born on September 13, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Dorothy Eleanor (Mingle) and John Gerald Humerick.
John was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service.
John was of the Catholic faith.
He was an avid outdoorsman, and a member of the Alaska Department of Fish and Game.
John touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, Rob Humerick and Jodi Tatman (Christopher), all of Springfield, OH; 3 Grandsons, Tyler Humerick, Christopher Tatman, Jr., and Michael Tatman; 6 Great Grandchildren, Jaxtyn, Annberlyn, Madilynn, Freyja, Eulalia, Mariella; and numerous Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 2 Sisters, Linda Humerick and Dorothy Fink; and Brother, Thomas Humerick.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
