John "Johnny" Willard Obituary

John Lee “Johnny” Willard, 58, of Foxville, MD, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. Born June 29, 1963, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of Richard Lee Willard and Patricia Ann (Jacobs) Willard of Foxville. He attended Catoctin High School. He was a self-employed farmer and worked for his uncle Jesse in the logging industry. He was a member of South Mountain Rod and Gun Club. In addition to his parents, Johnny is survived by brother, Ritchie Lynn Willard and wife Tina, niece, Paige Willard, nephew, Cody Willard, uncles, Jesse Willard, Ronald Jacobs and David Jacobs, aunts, Sharon Hurley, JoAnn Willard and Judy Willard and many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clayton E. Jacobs and Juanita (Davis) Jacobs and Clifford D. Willard and Pearl (Brown) Willard. Services will be held Thursday, October 7, 2021, at 2:00pm at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, Foxville, MD, with Pastor Ronald Kurtz officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD. Doors will open at 12 noon for the convenience of the public. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church, 14110 Stottlemyer Rd. Smithsburg, MD 21783 or American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
