John Ned Shadrach

John Shadrach, 83, of Williamsport, MD, passed away peacefully and comfortably, Monday, September 14, 2020, at his daughter’s home with family. Born October 12, 1936 in Hagerstown MD, he was the son of the late Gernard and Catherine (Garling) Shadrach. John graduated from Hagerstown High, Class of 1955. John served his country in the Navy, 1955-1959, Army Reserve and National Guard. He worked at Mack Trucks for 32 years, retiring in 1993. His hobbies included golf, golf and more golf, being by and on the Potomac River, Shuffleboard, playing a variety of sports, watching and listening to sports and speculating on race horses. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Williamsport, Beaver Creek Country Club, Williamsport American Legion, Potomac Fish & Game Club, Owl’s Club, Williamsport Red Men Lodge, and Hagerstown Elks Lodge. John is survived by his wife Patricia Shadrach, daughter Denise Tokarcik and husband Steve of Hagerstown MD, children by marriage Abbe Clark, Steven Hockenberry and partner Vicky Babington, Dawn Hockenberry and partner Jeff Keadle and son Wayde Hockenberry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, June Shadrach, Jane Douglas and husband Jack, Mary Ann Josephine (Jo) Kimmel and husband Charles, three brothers, Ronald (Lips) Shadrach, Charles (Dick) Shadrach, Thomas (Flo) Shadrach. Receiving family and friends for Celebration of Life gathering at Williamsport American Legion Post 202 in the Pavilion from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm following the graveside service.
