Joyce Elaine (Tucker) Reynolds, 87, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, in Smithsburg, MD.
Born on November 3rd, 1937, in Berlin, NH, she was the daughter of the late Warren Kenneth Charles Tucker and Doris Pearl Tucker (McGinley). In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Glenn Reynolds and son Kevin Mickey Reynolds.
Joyce attended Gorham High School in New Hampshire and graduated with the class of 1955. She was devoted to her family and community. She was a former long-time member of Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church. Joyce was also a long-time member and supporter of the Smithsburg Little Sluggers as well as supporting Smithsburg High School Band Boosters. Joyce supported anything her children were involved in; she would make food for high school football games. Her hobbies were endless; to name a few she enjoyed making ceramics and knitting blankets for friends and family to include a few family dogs. She was known for her candy making around all holidays and her delicious homemade donuts, especially her traditional German Fastnachts.
She is survived by brother Byron Tucker (Marion); her daughters Kathleen Reynolds (Nelson) and Harriet Yost (Terry); son Glenn Reynolds (Cindy); Grandchildren Stacy Wujcik (Alan), Jeremy Yost (Nicole), Tara Rohrer (Travis), Branda Yeargan (Tom), Alexandra Reynolds and great grandchildren Ryan, Ava, Lilly, Lucas, Leah and Claire; and her faithful 4-legged companion Buddy the dog.
A private funeral service surrounded by family was held graveside officiated by Pastor Kyle Powderly on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Smithsburg Cemetery, Smithsburg, MD.
