Judith "Judy" Ann (Brice) Dewees

Judith Ann "Judy" Dewees, born September 19, 1946, passed away peacefully on May 27th surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and selfless sacrifice. She was the daughter of the late Tom and Catherine Brice and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rich; her brother, Tom; and her sister, Virginia.

Judy married Charles (Rich) Dewees on December 23, 1966, beginning a partnership that would span decades and create a lifetime of cherished memories. Together they built a family, a business, and a life rooted in hard work, commitment, and unconditional love.

For many years, Judy worked at Thurmont Cooperative before retiring. She was also an integral part of C. Richard Dewees Oil Co., Inc., where she became a familiar and comforting voice to generations of customers. Behind the scenes, she helped keep the family business running for more than 50 years, rarely seeking recognition and always putting others before herself.

Of all the roles Judy held throughout her life, none meant more to her than being a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her family was her world. She devoted herself completely to those she loved, making daily sacrifices without hesitation to ensure her family was cared for, supported, and encouraged. Her love was not measured in words but in the countless acts of kindness she performed every day.

Judy is survived by her children, Scott, Shawn, and Stephanie; her treasured grandchildren, Nevaeh, Nehemiah "Nemo", Noah, and Cody; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She shared a special bond with her niece, Kira. She also leaves behind her cherished best friend, Carol, whose friendship brought her comfort, laughter, and companionship throughout the years.

Judy found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved tending her garden, challenging herself with word games, playing solitaire, and spending hours working on puzzles. Many of her happiest moments were spent sitting on the front porch, talking about life, watching the birds, and enjoying the peace of the day. Nothing brought a bigger smile to her face than watching her grandsons, Nemo and Noah, play baseball. She was their biggest fan and loved every moment spent cheering them on.

Those who knew Judy will remember her gentle spirit, her quiet strength, and her unwavering dedication to her family. She taught by example, showing that love is found in the everyday things we do for one another. Her presence was a source of comfort, her heart was always open, and her memory will live on in the lives of all who loved her.

Though she will be deeply missed, the love she shared and the family she nurtured will continue to be her lasting legacy.
