KEEGAN LONG Obituary

On Wednesday morning March 27th, 2024, Keegan Long was tragically taken from us when he, on his motorcycle ride to work, was struck in traffic. Keegan will be remembered fondly by all who met him as a sincerely kind and loving soul.

Born in Howard Co. Keegan moved to Boonsboro in 2002, aged 3, where he attended school throughout the Boonsboro system graduating from BHS in 2016. Growing up Keegan loved to be with his family, hanging at home, visiting grandparents and cousins, and especially family vacations to the beach. Keegan began playing soccer as soon as he could stand and excelled. He played soccer for FC Frederick, Boonsboro Football Club, & Locomotive FC. In 6th grade Keegan found his true sporting passion in lacrosse, and again he excelled. Keegan began at HAYLA and ended his club play for Maryland Elite. While at BHS Keegan played in varsity matches all four years, in both sports. Eventually he was acknowledged for All-County and All-Area in both sports. After high school Keegan played college lacrosse at FCC.

While working in his family’s restaurant located in Frederick, and working in home improvements with his aunt’s company, Keegan attended and graduated from the Audio Engineering program at the prestigious Omega Studios in Bethesda. From roughly 12-years old forward, Keegan was immersed in music, in making music electronically. Over the years he built his own studio, made beats, mixed for clients, and produced albums. Rumor has it Keegan has thousands of unreleased tracks that friends, cousins, and music partners vow to be made public!

Keegan has been living in St. Augustine, Fl. for the past 2.5 years. In Florida Keegan continued two careers he was exceptionally talented in: making and producing music and serving in the restaurant industry.

As word of Keegan’s passing spread, the outpouring of both condolences and praise came rushing in. From childhood friends and acquaintances to brief encounters, teammates and coaches, to his new world in Florida people have felt obligated to reach out and express just how special Keegan was. His massive heart was full of love and concern for others. If you were lucky enough to meet Keegan, you just felt better. He had a unique gift to find the lonely or sad souls and give them the love and attention he could tell they needed. He had a knack at making you feel like the most important person in the world. Patrons, at the restaurants he worked in, felt Keegan truly loved seeing them and wanted them to have a great experience, and he did. Friends, cousins, parents, uncles, etc. are all inspired to live a better, happier, and more giving life to honor Keegan because of the example he gave us.

Keegan leaves behind a loving and grieving family; Father Michael Long, Mother Karen Long, Brothers Reilly & Mac, Sister Delaney. Papa Robert Patla, Nana Beverly Long, PapPap Dennis Long. Uncles Drew Krasny, Erik Patla, Christopher Long. Aunts Kim Abell, Cheryllee Krasny, Melanie Long, and 13 extremely close cousins, more like 13 extra siblings. Keegan was preceded in death by Gramma Betty Patla, and Uncle Nathan Long.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
