Karen Sue (Bumbaugh) Brown, 62, of Sabillasville MD passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on September 22, 2022. Born October 28, 1959, in Waynesboro PA, she was the daughter of Ruth (Johnson) Bumbaugh and the late Glenn R Bumbaugh. She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart, Gordon Brown, and her daughter, Nichol Haines (Bill Albright). Also surviving are grandchildren Ethan Haines, Zachary Haines, Brianna Haines, Alex Albright and Zachery Albright, sisters Kathy Wortz (Larry), Kim Baker (Randy), and Glenda Hahn (Mark) and several nieces and nephews. Karen was a graduate of Catoctin High School. She worked for many years at her dad’s business, Glenn’s Service Center, and Mountain Gate restaurant. Karen was an animal lover and the biggest Dale Earnhardt fan. Above all else, times spent with her grandchildren were most precious to her. Her smile and quiet sense of humor will be missed. The family would like to thank the Hospice nurses and cousins, Eurith and Brad Emerson, for all their love and care. Services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:00am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Linda Rosenberry and Pastor Richard Delawder officiating. Burial will be in Browns Cemetery, Foxville, MD. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
