Kathleen (Smith) Rinehart

Kathleen (Smith) Rinehart, 79, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully Sunday, December 14, 2025 at Doey's House, Hagerstown, MD, surrounded by loving family.

Born on June 15, 1946 in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Dorothea Virginia (Balcom) and James Cleatus Smith.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, James A. Rinehart; Sons, Bradley Wayne and Brian Lee Rinehart; Brother, Ralph Eugene Smith; Sisters, Dorothy Jean Miller, Linda Mae Harne; and infant Sister, Connie Mae Smith.

Kathleen worked as a cabinet maker for Maryland Made from the 70's into the 80's, then started working at the concession stand in City Park until 1998.

Kathleen enjoyed working in her garden, taking care of her Grandchildren, and spending time with family.

She is survived by her Daughter, Dana Fay Betts of Hagerstown, Kimberly Sue Barthelew and husband, Raymond, of Clear Spring, MD; Son, Troy William Rinehart and Girlfriend, Rhonda Gorman, of Hagerstown, and Daughter, Tanya Lynn Rinehart of Hagerstown; Grandchildren, Christopher James "CJ" Rinehart, Brian Marcus Rinehart, Aaron Lee Rinehart, and numerous other Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren; Sister, Donna Kay Harne; Brother, James Allen Smith, Sr.; and numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 22, 2025 from 6 to 8 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to help offset funeral costs.
