Kenneth Calvin Bachtell of Hagerstown passed away at Williamport Retirement Village after a short illness.
After almost 2 years in the US Army and stationed at Walter Reed Hospital, Kenneth was discharged to manage the family farm. He had various jobs over the years before landing at Mack Trucks from which he retired.
His interests included raising farm animals and crops, reading, playing cards and music and playing with his grand children and great grandchildren. He was a member of the Masons, VFW, Owls Club and North American Rod and Gun Club as well as the American Legion.
He was active with the Valley Little League for a number of years and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Mary, a son Neal Bachtell/Ellen, a daughter Tina Bachtell, four grandchildren Jason Bachtell/ Tarra, Sara Clark/Bert, Corey Bachtell/Kate, Mark Hutzell/Beth, and 3 great grandchildren Rebekah, Garrett and Nathan.
Kenneth was predeceased by his parents George B. Bachtell and Beulah Bachtell, a brother George A. Bachtell and a sister Lillian Smith.
Services will be planned at a later date.
