LENZLEA MOSBY Obituary

Lenzlea Fairfax Mosby, Jr., 88, of Hagerstown MD, peacefully passed away on April 6th, 2023, at Hagerstown Healthcare.

Lenzlea Fairfax Mosby Jr., was born on June 15, 1934, in Harrisonburg VA. He was the son of Lenzlea Fairfax Mosby, Sr., and Mable-Fielding Mosby. Len is preceded in death by his wife Carrie A. Mosby, his son, Lenzlea Fairfax Mosby, III, two brothers, Reginald Mosby, and Albert Guy, and one nephew, Ryan Parker.

He graduated from high school in 1952, in Harrisonburg, VA.

Len was a member of Asbury United Methodist church in Hagerstown, MD. He served as Head Trustee on the Administration council until he was no longer able. Len served as a Lay servant/Liturgist and an active member of the United Methodist Men. More importantly, he was the Conference Delegate for the Cumberland-Hagerstown District for many years and well respected from Church Leadership. Len volunteered as a Conference Guide/Usher and attended Church Conference.

Len was an entrepreneur. Through arduous work and determination, he started his own business, Mosby’s Grocery. Len was a pillar in the community and well respected. Len was competent in many endeavors, he worked as a life insurance agent and an undertaker. In his retirement he worked as a supervisor with Meals on Wheels. His work ethic was exceptional.

Len was a member of the Masonic Lodge, 32nd Degree. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching tennis,

dabbling in real estate, he enjoyed renovating properties and providing for this family.

Len leaves cherished life memories with his two daughters, Dawn Baltimore (Son-in law), Ronald

Baltimore of Hagerstown, MD and Costella Forney of Harrisonburg, VA. Grandchildren: Blair Baltimore,

Jacqmel Keyes, (wife Jeanne Carroll Keyes), Aubrey Keyes, AnTuan Ray, Nekeya Forney, Terra Forney-

Jones, and Devon Forney. Great-grandchildren, Arion Baltimore-Smith, Jamel Keyes, Kyrie Keyes, Alana

Keyes, Journey Carroll and Heaven Carroll, Acacia Ingle, Langston Newsome, Haile Madden, Chinah

Forney, Haiden Madden and London Forney. Great-great grandchildren, Lynnox Ingle, and Riley Ingle.

Two sisters, Yvonne Mosby and Doris Gonzales of Baltimore, MD, brother-in-law, George Grantham (Wife Marcina), three nephews, Jerome Grantham, Michael Gonzalez and Perky Gonzalez, and a host of family, friends and loved ones.

The family would like to express special thanks to Hagerstown Health Care and Hospice of Washington County, especially Nurse Megan. 

A celebration of Life service will be on April 15th, 2023, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 155 N. Jonathan St.

Hagerstown, MD., with Pastor Sharon Gibson officiating. Viewing from 10:00am-11.00am. Funeral service at 11:00am.
