Leon Leslie Michael, 92, of Leitersburg, Maryland, passed away Saturday August 21,2021 at his home. Born September 30, 1928, in Berkeley Springs, W.V., He was the son of the late Roy Leslie Michael and Vallie Kesecker Michael Dennis. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret F. Wishard Michael whom he married on April 7,1950. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War stationed in Okinawa. He was employed by Brandt Cabinet works in Hagerstown for over 20 years. Later he opened his own refinishing business and he also owned and operated Michael’s Antique Shop. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He and his wife loved going on bus trips all over the country, having met many dear friends along the way. They also enjoyed being “snowbirds” traveling to Myrtle Beach, S.C. during the winter months, making many dear friendships there as well. He will be sadly missed by all, especially his amazing sense of humor, even as miserable as he was, he would slip in a joke or two. He is survived by two daughters, Pamela K. Barnhart (Kraig) and Melinda S. Thompson (Gary), a son Rory L. Michael (Lori) and three grandchildren Scott and Kyle Thompson and Cory Michael. He is also survived by a brother, Aaron (Bud) Michael and a sister Delores Cole. He was also preceded in death by brother Lowell C. Michael Sr. Services will be held Thursday August 26, at 10:00 a.m. from the J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg with the Hospice Chaplain Volodymyr Grinchenko officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown. Family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105, their television commercials really touched his heart.
