Leroy Dolan Blackburn, Jr.

Leroy Dolan Blackburn Jr., 85, of State Line, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at his home.

Born Tuesday, April 20, 1937, in Pawpaw WV, he was the son of the late Leroy D. Blackburn Sr., and Pearl I. (Zembower) Blackburn.

Leroy was a graduate of Bedford Highschool, class of 1955.

In 1957 he married his sweetheart, Grace (Shipe) Blackburn, they had been married 61 years. They lived in Bedford, PA, while he was working for Standard Register, until 1967, when his job transferred him and his family to Stateline, PA.  

Leroy enjoyed trips to the beach and camping with his family, gardening, and eating fresh tomatoes out of his garden. Many of his hobbies included woodworking, restoring classic cars, and cruising in his 1971 Monte Carlo with Grace.

Leroy loved watching his favorite Nascar driver (Darrell Waltrip), the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Penn State football.

He is survived by his daughters Debbie Beckley (Ron), Beth Forsyth (Jim), and Mary Campbell, grandchildren, Dave Beckley (Mandi), Nick Beckley (Jess), Scott Harbaugh, Krista Harbaugh (Cameron), and Erin Hurd (Darin), great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Allyssa, Madison, Mason, and Dakota.

Leroy and Grace will be laid to rest together in Centerville, Pa.

There will be a celebration of Leroy’s life for family and friends at his home on Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 12:00-5:00 pm. Refreshments will be served.
