Lilly Catherine "Kate" (Willard) Shindledecker, Age 90, entered into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Julia Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Hagerstown, MD.
Preceded in death by her parents, Raymond A. and Vera R. (Pryor) Willard. Sisters, Anna Mae Leatherman and Rayetta Brown. Brothers, Raymond Willard, Jr., and Theophilus Willard.
Surviving her are husband, John Shindledecker, Siblings – Vera Evangeline Brown, Gladys Leatherman, Rosemary Whetstone, William Willard and Edgar Joseph Willard, many nieces and nephews, as well as special friends, Daniel & Valerie Cox and their children. Kate was employed by the Waynesboro Knitting Mill, Waynesboro, PA, and Claire Frock, Thurmont, MD; where she developed into an expert seamstress, making much of her own clothing, as well as school dresses for some of her nieces.
A very loving and giving person, Kate always wanted to help others, especially children. She was an expert at baking pies and cakes for her family and friends, to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries, or just because she loved you.
There will be no public viewing.
Services will be held at 1 PM, Friday, September 19, 2025 at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD. Interment immediately following the ceremony at Germantown Church of God, Cascade, MD.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Julia Manor, for their loving and compassionate care of our Kate during her brief stay there.
