Marguerite Virginia (Williams) "Marg" Kinney

Marguerite Virginia “Marg” Kinney, 90, of Hagerstown, MD, fell asleep in Jesus on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at her home in Hagerstown surrounded by her loving family. Born May 24, 1931, in Glendon, WV, she was the daughter of Charles H. Sr., and Ruby F. Williams. Many of her early years were spent with family in McMechen, WV. After graduating from Union High School in 1949 she attended Emmanuel Missionary College (now Andrews University) in Berrien Springs, MI. It was here that she met her husband Robert “Bob” Kinney, Jr. They were married on August 19, 1951 and have enjoyed over 70 years of marriage together with Bob dedicating the last few years lovingly caring for her, along with their children’s support. Marg spent many years working side by side with her husband serving in various responsibilities for the Seventh-day Adventist Church throughout Michigan, Wisconsin, and finally Maryland. She spent 17 years working as a secretary for the Review and Herald Publishing Association where she retired in 1996. In addition, Marg loved children and taught in the children’s divisions at every church she was a member of, dedicating more than 30 years to this special ministry. She was a member of the Willow Brook Seventh-day Adventist Church in Boonsboro, MD and enjoyed attending her ladies’ Bible study group each week until her health no longer allowed. Those ladies meant so much to her, especially towards the end of her life. Marg loved her family and enjoyed spending time together more than anything. Her grandsons were her special joy enjoying many fun activities together and encouraging them in all their endeavors. Her love was deep and sincere to all her family, and to those who knew her. Marg is survived in life by her loving husband, Robert “Bob” Kinney, Jr, daughters Jane Baugher (Jerry) of Germantown, Karen Shockey (Leonard) of Hagerstown, her son Jim Kinney of Greencastle, and her grandsons Brian Shockey of Middletown, CT, and Jason Shockey of Rockville, MD. Her niece Terri McLaney and nephew Chip Williams and their families also mourn her loss. Marg was preceded in death by her brother Charles “Chuck” H. Williams, Jr. Flowers are being accepted. Friends will be received at Willow Brook Seventh-day Adventist Church, one hour prior to the service at 11:30 am on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, with Pastor Shawn Paris officiating.
