Marilyn Loy (Jones) Palmer

Marilyn Loy (Jones) Palmer, 90, of Smithsburg, MD, passed away on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at Mercy House in Chambersburg, Pa. Born on August 9, 1934, in Iroquois, SD, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert Jones and Tilda J. (Nelson) Jones. Marilyn lived in California for most of her life. She had a love for gardening, and her cats. Marilyn is survived by her children, Betsy Herbst (David), Debra Davidson (Jeffrey) and Gary Palmer (Denise); grandchildren, Katherine Long (Brooks), Jennifer Malott (Justin), Kimberly West (Sean), Andrew Herbst (Jacklyn), Jeffery Davidson (Chrissy), Christina Davidson, and Rebecca Davidson; 17 great-grandchildren; and sister, Shirley Wooten. In addition to her parents, Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Richard L. Palmer (2016); her son, Richard C. Palmer; brother, Duane Jones; and sister, Charmaine Moore. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made with J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
