Martha Jane (Shoop) Hetzer

Martha Jane (Shoop) Hetzer, 79, Mercersburg, PA, passed away Monday, August 25, 2025, at Somerford House and Place of Hagerstown, MD. Born January 20, 1946, in Hagerstown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Shoop, Sr. and Maxine Elizabeth (Kershner) Shoop. She was preceded in death by her loving Donald E. Hetzer, and one brother, Robert L. Shoop, Jr. She was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School class of 1964. She retired from Citibank serving as a credit analyst. She was a member of Morris Frock American Legion Unit 42 Auxiliary. Martha is survived by two sons, Stephen C. Hetzer and wife Alva, and Jeffrey L. Hetzer and wife Lisa, one sister, Linda J. Newton, three brothers, Ronald G. Shoop, Michael E. Shoop, and David L. Shoop, three grandchildren, Stephanie Hetzer, Hayden Hetzer, and Riley Hetzer, three step-grandchildren, Michaela Gross, Gavin Gross, and Daytona Pague, and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
