Mary Effie (Stottlemyer) Buhrman

Mary Effie (Stottlemyer) Buhrman, 92, of Sabillasville, MD, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Quincy Village Retirement Community, Waynesboro, PA, surrounded by loving family. Born on September 4, 1932, in Sabillasville, MD, she was the daughter of the late Minnie Magdaline (Eyler) Stottlemyer and Leister Stottlemyer, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd C. Buhrman; and Brothers, Leister Stottlemyer, Jr., John Stottlemyer, Andrew Stottlemyer and Kenneth Stottlemyer. Mary graduated from Smithsburg High School, class of 1951. Mary retired from Tab Books in Blue Ridge Summit, PA. She enjoyed quilting and knitting and made many quilts for family members. She is survived by her Son, John R. Buhrman (Beverly); Son, James E. Buhrman (Gail); Daughter, Loretta F. Davis (David); Grandchildren, Daniel, Luke (Jenn), Melissa (Mike), Carol (Tim), Joel (Jen) and Ben; 9 Great Grandchildren; Sisters, Anna Weikert, Kathryn Brown, Martha Shaffer, Dorothy Buhrman; Brother, James Stottlemyer; and numerous Nieces, Nephews, and extended family. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 3, 2024, at 2 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg, MD 21783, with Pastor Casey Hurst officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Cascade, MD. Family will receive friends Thursday, January 2, 2024, from 6-8 PM.
